For those of you who might not know what a Brit Milah is - it is a covenant of circumcision - a Jewish religious circumcision ceremony performed on 8-day old male infants by a mohel. To learn more please click here
Until very recently, I was only a witness to the ceremony as a mother (very nerve wracking), an aunt and a friend or a relative to the families. When this family called me and asked me to photograph the Brit Milah of their son, quite honestly I was a bit aprehensive at first. I was not sure I could capture the event in "my style", capturing MY "moments of love..." But Alex (my always supportive husband and business partner) reassured me that I can do it. And so I did, rather, WE did.
I have to say, I am honored to have met this woderful family. They were so easy to be around, yes, of course a bit nervous but still very easy going. The Mohel - Rabbi Moshe Chaim Friedman - blew me away completely - he was not only extremely professional, reassuring to parents, confident, but also very funny (which can prove to be very important on that day). Being a very concerned parent and working with new parents quite often I was a bit worried prior - but he exuberated the confidence that made everyone at ease.
Dear V family, I wish your all lots of MAZAL and I look forward to seeing your son and your beautiful girls grow and to capture more of their milestones in the near future.
Here are some of the photos from the event which I hope show the moment of love I so much strive to continuously capture!
L'CHAIM!!! TO LIFE!!!
